Suspect in Ramat Gan Lawyer's Murder Confesses, Family Reports Two Years of Isolation

A 23-year-old man from Ramla has confessed to killing a lawyer in his office in Rishon Lezion on Tuesday. The victim, about 50 years old, was shot multiple times during a dispute over a legal case involving a sum of 10 to 15 thousand shekels. The suspect, who was a client of the lawyer, reportedly accused him of mishandling funds related to a claim involving the suspect's father.

Family members of the suspect revealed that he had been isolated at home for the past two years and needed psychiatric treatment. The suspect surrendered to police, admitted to the shooting, and agreed to hand over the firearm used in the murder. Authorities are investigating whether the gun was legally licensed and will conduct forensic tests on it.

The lawyer's partner at the firm was the first to arrive at the scene, describing hearing shouting and gunshots before finding the victim wounded on the floor. The suspect is expected to appear in Rishon Lezion Magistrate's Court for a hearing where his lawyer will request a psychiatric evaluation. The court will decide on extending his detention.

No prior threats from the suspect or others against the lawyer were reported. The investigation is focusing on whether the financial dispute triggered the fatal confrontation.
