The story · English

A man in his 30s from Ramla confessed to police that he shot and killed a lawyer in his office in Rishon Lezion following a prolonged financial dispute. The lawyer, around 50 years old, was shot dead at his office on Moshe Levi Street. After the shooting, the suspect fled on foot through fields toward Ashdod before surrendering himself at a police station and being transferred to the Central District Investigations Unit.

During interrogation, the suspect explained he had known the lawyer since a car accident years earlier, after which the court awarded him 15,000 shekels in compensation. He claimed he had been pursuing the payment for three years without success. Describing the murder morning, he said, "I arrived with the gun. We didn’t talk much, I shot him." He refused to disclose how he obtained the firearm.

Family members of the suspect told Channel 12 that they had tried for a long time to get him psychiatric treatment and hospitalization, which he resisted. They said his mental state had previously prevented him from enlisting in the Border Police and expressed shock at his actions. They also expressed condolences to the lawyer’s family and said the tragedy could have been avoided.

Meanwhile, the lawyer’s partner, who was present during the shooting, recounted the terrifying moments. Initially, he did not realize gunshots had been fired, thinking it was a false alarm. He heard a brief conversation between the suspect and the lawyer without shouting, then heard gunfire. He found the lawyer lying under his desk, covered in blood, and immediately called emergency services.
