Police Obtain Recording Revealing Financial Dispute Before Lawyer's Murder in Rishon Lezion

Israeli police have secured an audio recording of a conversation between lawyer Arbel Feldman, who was murdered yesterday in Rishon Lezion, and Ahmad Alrajoub, the 23-year-old suspect in the killing. The recording reveals a financial dispute between the two, with Alrajoub saying, "I've been waiting for three years. What is this? You told me in court it would be in your bank in 30 days."

Alrajoub has remained mostly silent during his interrogation but claimed to police that he is "psychiatric." He threatened, "If you put me with someone in detention, I will kill him." Despite these claims, a psychiatric evaluation found him fit for detention. Earlier reports indicated that Alrajoub refused to disclose the location of the gun used in the shooting, despite initially surrendering himself and promising to hand over the weapon. Authorities suspect he is withholding the gun because it may implicate him in other crimes.

The victim and suspect had met briefly before the shooting, with investigators identifying Alrajoub based on their interaction moments before the murder. Alrajoub's lawyer stated that his client is not in good health and will request a fitness evaluation. A court hearing to extend Alrajoub's detention is scheduled soon at the Rishon Lezion Magistrate's Court.

In a related development, a man around 40 years old was arrested on suspicion of involvement in a separate murder in Netivot. The police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding these violent incidents.
