Israeli Court Extends Detention of Suspect in Lawyer Arbel Feldman's Murder

The Magistrate's Court in Rishon Lezion extended the detention of Ahmad Al-Rajoub, 23, from Ramla, by eight days on Saturday. Al-Rajoub is suspected of murdering lawyer Arbel Feldman over a financial dispute involving 15,000 shekels. Police revealed that the two met briefly before the shooting, and investigators identified Al-Rajoub through recorded conversations captured just before the incident. In the recording, Al-Rajoub confronts Feldman about a delayed payment, saying, "I've been waiting for three years. What is this? You told me in court it would be in your bank within 30 days." Shortly after the shooting, Al-Rajoub surrendered to police but refused to cooperate, claiming psychiatric issues and threatening violence against other detainees. However, a psychiatric evaluation deemed him fit for detention. Authorities suspect he withheld the firearm used in the murder because it may implicate him in other crimes. Feldman was shot at point-blank range in his Rishon Lezion office by a client, who was subsequently arrested.
