Lawyer Arbel Feldman Murdered in Office; Police Seek Gun Linked to Other Shootings

Arbel Feldman, a lawyer in Rishon Lezion, was fatally shot four times by a 23-year-old client, Ahmad Alrajoub, in his office two days ago. Feldman's funeral took place Wednesday evening at the Rishon Lezion cemetery, attended by his wife, three children, parents, brother, extended family, friends, and many colleagues from the legal community. A fellow lawyer described Feldman as "the most honest and good person," expressing shock over the killing.

Alrajoub arrived at Feldman's office and shortly after, four gunshots were heard. Feldman's partner, who was in an adjacent room, witnessed Alrajoub leaving the scene. The suspect's detention was extended by 12 days at the Rishon Lezion Magistrate's Court. Police have yet to locate the firearm used in the shooting and are investigating whether it was involved in previous shootings. Authorities suspect the gun is illegal and that the murder was premeditated, likely stemming from a financial dispute between Feldman and Alrajoub.

During interrogation, Alrajoub remained mostly silent, only repeatedly stating, "I am psychiatric." At the funeral, Amit Bechar, head of the Israel Bar Association, condemned the violence against legal professionals and others serving the public, emphasizing the need for protection and collective action to combat such attacks. Bechar highlighted Feldman's dedication to the rule of law and called for zero tolerance of violence against lawyers and judges, promising to honor Feldman's memory as a committed legal advocate.
