Man Arrested for Murder of Lawyer Arbel Feldman After Months of Threats Over Compensation Dispute

Arbel Feldman, a lawyer in Rishon Lezion, was fatally shot in his office following a prolonged dispute over compensation money. The suspect, 23-year-old Ahmad Alragoub from Ramla, had been represented by Feldman in a personal injury claim involving a sum between 10,000 and 15,000 shekels. Investigation materials reveal that Alragoub repeatedly threatened and harassed Feldman over the financial disagreement in the months leading up to the murder, although Feldman did not file a police complaint.

Recordings obtained by Walla show Alragoub expressing frustration and desperation, saying, "Don't make me a psychopath," and describing his dire financial situation, including lack of cigarettes and a broken car. Alragoub claimed the compensation money was transferred to his father, not to him, while Feldman reportedly maintained the funds were given to Alragoub's father.

On the day of the murder, Alragoub arrived at Feldman's office where shouting was heard shortly before at least four gunshots. Feldman's partners found him bleeding and unconscious under his desk; medical teams declared him dead at the scene. Alragoub fled but later surrendered at a police station in southern Israel, admitting to the shooting before invoking his psychiatric rights.

The Rishon Lezion Magistrate's Court extended Alragoub's detention by 12 days. He faces charges including premeditated murder, evidence destruction, and obstruction of justice. Police continue searching for the firearm used in the killing, believing its recovery could strengthen the case against him.
