Suspect in Lawyer Arbel Feldman’s Murder Refuses to Speak Amid Investigation

Ahmad Al Rajoub, a 23-year-old resident of Ramla, is the prime suspect in the murder of lawyer Arbel Feldman, who was shot dead in his office in Rishon Lezion on Tuesday. Initially, Al Rajoub admitted to the shooting but later invoked his right to silence after consulting with a lawyer, claiming insanity and refusing to disclose the location of the firearm. Feldman, who left behind a wife and three children, was reportedly killed following a dispute over compensation money related to a personal injury case he was handling for Al Rajoub.

The incident occurred around 13:05 near the intersection of Moshe Levi and Rozhensky streets. Emergency services rushed Feldman to the hospital, but he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Police quickly launched an investigation and extensive searches for the suspect, who eventually surrendered himself at the local police station. Authorities believe the motive stems from Al Rajoub’s dissatisfaction with the handling of a compensation payout of 15,000 shekels, which was given to his father rather than directly to him.

Police are examining whether Al Rajoub’s visit to Feldman’s office was planned or spontaneous. After a verbal argument, the suspect allegedly drew a gun and fired four shots at point-blank range before fleeing. Al Rajoub has a criminal record related to property crimes and arms trafficking, but it remains unclear if he legally possessed the weapon. The investigation continues alongside efforts to locate the firearm.

Feldman’s colleague described the aftermath of the shooting, emphasizing Feldman’s good character and lack of prior threats. Meanwhile, family members of the suspect report he has long suffered from mental health issues and call for a psychiatric evaluation. Al Rajoub’s detention has been extended by 12 days as police probe the case further.
