Israeli Prison Officer Arrested for Assisting Fugitive Suspect in Benyahu Razi Murder Case

Israeli authorities have arrested a prison service officer on suspicion of obstructing the investigation into the murder of Benyahu Razi and breaching trust. The officer allegedly maintained a personal relationship with an inmate closely connected to the main suspect, who remains at large, and is suspected of aiding in hindering the investigation. The arrest followed intelligence received from the Israel Prison Service, which triggered a covert investigation.

The officer serves at a detention facility in central Israel where a relative of the fugitive suspect is incarcerated. According to police, the officer collaborated with this inmate to disrupt the inquiry and assist the suspect. The suspect is wanted in connection with the stabbing death of 19-year-old Benyahu Razi in a rented apartment in the Nahalat neighborhood, following a heated argument that escalated into violence.

The investigation continues with the police actively searching for the fugitive, identified as Aviaor Shason, urging the public to report any information about his whereabouts. Two additional suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder. Medical teams attempted prolonged resuscitation on Razi before he was pronounced dead at Shaare Zedek Medical Center. Police emphasized their commitment to apprehending all individuals involved or aiding the suspect's escape.
