Israeli Police Arrest Additional Suspect in Benyahu Razi Murder Investigation

Israeli police have arrested another suspect in connection with the murder of Benyahu Razi in the Nahalat neighborhood, as reported on Wednesday by Kan News. The new suspect is a relative of Shilat Huta, the partner of Razi's friend, who was detained last Monday. Authorities believe this relative facilitated contact between Shilat Huta and Agam Tzarfati, Razi's partner and the main suspect, and Linor Sasson, who allegedly organized the murder from her home and drove the group to the crime scene. The relative was released to house arrest after questioning.

Police also possess video footage of Benyahu Razi taken shortly before his death, found on Tzarfati's phone, showing a video call between Tzarfati and Shilat during the murder event. Shilat Huta's lawyer, Amit Weitzman, stated that the relative connected Shilat to Sasson only to help Shilat leave a dangerous situation at the apartment where the murder occurred. He denied any knowledge or involvement by Shilat or the relative in the murder, arguing that mere presence at the scene does not imply guilt.

Earlier this week, the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court extended Shilat Huta's detention by four days. During the hearing, Huta claimed that Razi's friend threatened her with a knife and caused burns on her body. Her defense argued she played a minor role and did not intend Razi's death. Police allege Huta was significantly involved in planning the murder, which she denies. Authorities claim she ordered the killing as revenge after being attacked in the apartment.

Following the incident, Huta and her friend reportedly went to Linor Sasson's home in the Neve Yaakov neighborhood of Jerusalem. Sasson, 50, has a criminal record and was convicted in September 2024 for extortion by threats. Police accuse her of facilitating and assisting in the murder. Additionally, Agam Tzarfati's sister, a traffic police officer, was questioned on suspicion of obstructing justice and breach of trust after allegedly meeting with suspects post-murder and attempting to interfere with the investigation.
