Jerusalem Court Extends Detention of Main Suspect in Benyahu Razi Murder Case
The Jerusalem court extended the detention of the primary suspect involved in the murder of Benyahu Razi, her former partner, in an Airbnb apartment in Jerusalem. The suspect, along with two others, is under investigation for the killing that occurred in the Nahlaot neighborhood. Among the other suspects are Shilat Huta, 19, from Beersheba, who stayed with the main suspect at the crime scene, and Linor Sasson, 50, from the Neve Yaakov neighborhood in Jerusalem, recently released from prison after serving time for extortion and fraud.
Police allege that Huta played a significant role in planning the murder, which she denies. Authorities claim the murder was premeditated as revenge following an attack on the suspects by the victims. After leaving the Nahlaot apartment, the suspects reportedly went to Sasson's residence, who is suspected of facilitating the murder and assisting afterward.
Additionally, a traffic police officer related to one of the suspects is under investigation for obstruction of justice and breach of trust. She allegedly met with two suspects shortly after the murder, was informed about the incident, and took actions that hindered the investigation without reporting to law enforcement.
Six suspects, aged 16 to 18, including girls and one adult woman believed to have aided but not directly involved in the murder, were arrested on Sunday. Police emphasized that the murder was planned as retaliation for severe violence inflicted by the victim and the injured party. The victim, Benyahu Razi, was 19 years old from Givat Ze'ev. The family has publicly expressed their grief and called for the perpetrator to remain imprisoned for life.
