Jerusalem Court Extends Detention of Suspect in Benyahu Razi Murder Case

A Jerusalem Magistrate's Court held a hearing on Wednesday to extend the detention of three suspects involved in the murder of 19-year-old Benyahu Razi. The suspects are Linor Sasson (50) from Jerusalem, Shilat Huta (19) from Beersheba, and Agam Sarfi (19), a soldier from Jerusalem and Razi's ex-partner who allegedly ordered the killing. Judge Moria Cherka extended Sasson's detention by eight days until the following Wednesday, citing the need to investigate additional involved parties.

During the hearing, police representatives stated that the murder was planned at Sasson's home and that she drove the killers to the Airbnb apartment in the Nahlaot neighborhood where the stabbing occurred on July 11. Sasson is suspected of being in a car below the apartment during the murder with another suspect and of receiving the killers afterward, actions that constitute obstruction of justice. Police said the evidence against her had strengthened, requesting a 15-day extension, but the judge limited it to eight days. Sasson was recently released from prison after a conviction for fraud and threats; her husband, Kfir Sasson, also served time for shooting at a police detective in 2001.

Separately, the Police Investigations Department revealed that a traffic policewoman was questioned on suspicion of obstructing justice and breach of trust. She allegedly met with Sasson and Huta shortly after the murder and was informed about case details, then took actions to hinder the investigation before suspects were arrested. She was released under restrictive conditions.

In total, six suspects have been arrested in connection with Razi's murder, and their detentions have been extended by the court. Sasson's and Huta's involvement was publicly confirmed following the arrests.
