Israeli Police Extend Detention of Two Suspects in Benyahu Razi Murder Case

The investigation into the murder of Benyahu Razi continues as Israeli authorities extended the detention of two additional suspects until the end of the month. The suspects include a 16-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man from Elad. This extension follows a recent court decision to prolong the detention of three other suspects involved in the case. So far, six suspects have been arrested, five of whom are teenagers.

Meanwhile, the police are actively searching for a 17-year-old suspect named Aviaor Sasson from Jerusalem, whose identity was publicly released to aid in his capture. Sasson was seen fleeing the crime scene in the Nahlaot neighborhood of Jerusalem, where the murder occurred about two weeks ago. The court approved the release of his photo and name despite his minor status, citing the severity of the case and the need to locate him. Police described Sasson as approximately 1.70 meters tall, with dark eyes, short black hair, wearing a white shirt and black pants at the time of the incident.

The police warned that assisting Sasson could result in up to three years imprisonment for aiding a criminal after the fact. They urged anyone with information about his whereabouts to report immediately.

The family of Benyahu Razi expressed gratitude for the publication of the suspect's identity, praising the court's decision as a necessary step to end the immunity often granted to minors involved in serious violent crimes. They emphasized that Sasson is fully responsible for his actions and should not be treated as an ordinary youth.

The murder took place in a rented apartment on Shirizli Street in Jerusalem's Nahlaot neighborhood following a heated argument that escalated into a violent fight. Razi, a 19-year-old from Givat Ze'ev, was stabbed in the abdomen and later died at Shaare Zedek Medical Center despite prolonged resuscitation efforts. Another young man was lightly injured in the altercation.
