Family of Murdered Teen Benyahu Razi Welcomes Court's Decision to Publish Suspect's Identity

The family of Benyahu Razi, a 17-year-old murdered in Jerusalem's Nahalat neighborhood, praised the court's rare decision to allow the publication of the identity and photo of the suspect, 17-year-old Abiyor Sasson. The suspect is accused of fleeing the murder scene, and the police issued an unusual public call for assistance in locating him, warning that aiding him could result in up to three years imprisonment. The family expressed gratitude to the Israeli police and judiciary, emphasizing that this legal precedent is crucial in combating violent crimes committed by minors. They stated that Sasson is not an ordinary youth, given his alleged actions and flight from law enforcement, and should be held fully accountable for his deeds.

Earlier, the court extended the detention of three additional suspects connected to the case, bringing the total number of detainees to six, five of whom are minors. The murder occurred about two weeks ago in a guest apartment in Nahalat. The police continue to seek public help in apprehending Sasson, who was last seen wearing a white shirt and black pants.
