Man Indicted for Murder in Car Bomb Killing of Ovnech Dinko in Afula

Two months after the car bombing that killed Ovnech Dinko in Afula, a 38-year-old resident of Migdal HaEmek has been indicted for his murder. The attack occurred on May 26, when an explosive device detonated inside Dinko's vehicle in a residential neighborhood, critically injuring him and leading to his death at Emek Hospital.

Video footage from the scene shows children passing by the street moments before the explosion, highlighting the danger to bystanders. The investigation by the YAMAR Emek unit revealed that the suspect began preparing the attack about eight hours prior, using a stolen vehicle equipped with counterfeit license plates taken from an identical car.

The police arrested the suspect just hours after the bombing and recovered the operational vehicle used in the attack. Northern District Commander Commissioner Meir Eliyahu, who visited the scene on the day of the explosion, stated that solving murder cases and preventing serious crime are top priorities, crediting the swift closure of the case to intensive investigative and operational efforts.
