Israeli Man Indicted for Car Bomb Murder in Afula Residential Area

The Northern District Prosecutor's Office filed an indictment on Monday against a 38-year-old resident of Migdal HaEmek for the murder of Obenach Dinko by detonating his car in Afula about two months ago. The indictment follows a police investigation that led to the suspect's arrest within hours of the car explosion on the morning of May 26 in a residential neighborhood of Afula. During the investigation, it was revealed that the suspect arrived at the scene approximately eight hours before the explosion, driving a stolen vehicle, and carried out numerous preparatory actions at the site and en route.

Northern District Commander Major General Meir Eliyahu stated that the swift closure of the case by the YAMAR investigators, who apprehended the suspect and brought the indictment, was a direct result of their relentless investigative and operational efforts. In a related development, police discovered a man's body in a bus bomb in Afula and have opened an investigation. Authorities also noted a significant and unusual rise in car bombings, describing the phenomenon as breaking records.
