Man From Migdal HaEmek Charged With Murder in Afula Car Bombing

A 38-year-old resident of Migdal HaEmek is set to be charged with the murder of Ovnech Dinko following a car explosion in Afula on May 26. The incident occurred around 8:40 a.m. in a residential neighborhood, where Dinko was critically injured and later died at Emek Hospital. The vehicle used in the bombing was stolen and had license plates taken from an identical car.

Police investigations revealed that preparations for the attack began approximately eight hours before the explosion. The suspect reportedly left the Tivon area in the stolen vehicle and conducted several preparatory actions at the scene and surrounding access routes. The Northern District Prosecutor's Office plans to file the indictment at the Nazareth-Nof HaGalil District Court.

Northern District Police Commander Meir Eliyahu emphasized that solving murder cases and combating serious crime remain top priorities. He credited the swift arrest and indictment to the rapid investigative and operational work of the Emek Unit detectives. The case was transferred to the Central Unit of the Emek region for further investigation shortly after the explosion, and the suspect was apprehended within hours.
