Dimona Man Indicted for Making and Hiding Bomb in Ashkelon Playground
The Israeli prosecution has filed charges against Oshar Peretz, a 22-year-old resident of Dimona, for manufacturing an improvised explosive device and concealing it in a playground in Ashkelon. The bomb was constructed from a metal pipe filled with explosives and metal screws and was hidden inside a bush near the playground. A police bomb disposal expert successfully neutralized the device before it could cause harm. The prosecution emphasized the heightened danger of the act, noting that placing such a device in a children's playground could have resulted in mass casualties, including injuries to children. Peretz faces charges of manufacturing weapons, possession of weapons, and preparing to commit a crime using hazardous materials.
