The IDF said Wednesday that troops from Brigade Combat Team 769 completed a focused operation in the Lebanese village of Debin, about 12 kilometers inside Lebanon and north of the Israeli forward defense line. The village, the army said, had served as a major Hezbollah base for planning attacks and firing anti-tank missiles toward Israel and toward IDF forces in the sector.

According to the military, the operation took place over the past few weeks under the command of Division 91. Its purpose was to weaken Hezbollah’s operational capabilities in the area and prevent harm to Israeli forces and northern communities. During the raid, dozens of militants were killed, the army said.

The raid was part of a broader campaign called "Roaring of the Lion." In that effort, which combines ground and air power, more than 30 militants have been killed so far in precise airstrikes and dozens of military sites used by Hezbollah have been destroyed.

The Air Force provided extensive fire support during the operation and struck more than 50 terrorist targets in and around the village. Ground troops carried out thorough searches in the built-up area, found significant weapons depots containing military equipment intended for offensive activity against Israel, and destroyed dozens of Hezbollah physical terror facilities. The IDF said it would continue operating in all arenas and with all available tools to remove any security threat to Israeli civilians.
