IDF Finds Maps Showing Threat to Northern Communities in Beaufort Ridge Tunnel Network

The IDF says it is continuing to clear an underground tunnel network beneath Beaufort Ridge, which it says was planned and financed by Iran’s regime. Troops from the 36th Division are deepening the operation as part of efforts to destroy the tunnels and gain operational control over an area that threatens Israeli civilians.

During the operation, soldiers found a tunnel route where militants who tried to flee were located and killed from the air several days ago. On one of the tunnel walls in that route, they discovered maps illustrating the area’s control over communities in northern Israel.

According to the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit, the mission was launched “to achieve operational control over the area that poses a threat to the citizens of the State of Israel and to enable the destruction of the tunnel network.” The military did not provide further details about the maps or the extent of the tunnel system in this notice.
