IDF and Shin Bet Kill Senior Hamas Commander Behind October 7 Attack and Hostage Taking

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Shin Bet announced the killing of Adham Ibrahim Aaban Nesman, a senior Hamas operative in the Gaza City Brigade, over the past weekend in the Gaza City area. Nesman served as the head of operations for the Gaza City Brigade and was directly involved in orchestrating the October 7 attack into Israeli territory. He also played a key role in holding multiple Israeli hostages, including Romi Gonen, Emily Damari, Ziv and Gali Berman, Eitan Mor, Matan Angrist, and Omri Miron.

Nesman held several senior positions within Hamas, including intelligence officer for the Gaza City Brigade and commander of the Shati Battalion. He was responsible for executing numerous terror attacks against Israeli forces and civilians. Recently, he worked on rebuilding the brigade's capabilities by training militants and facilitating the production and distribution of weapons to brigade units.

The IDF and Shin Bet emphasized that Nesman's activities violated the ceasefire agreement. His elimination is part of ongoing Israeli efforts to dismantle Hamas's operational leadership following the deadly October 7 massacre and hostage crisis originating from the Gaza Strip.
