Israeli Hostage Survivor Praises Killing of Hamas Commander Behind October 7 Attack

Omri Miran, an Israeli who survived captivity by Hamas, expressed profound satisfaction following the killing of Adham Ibrahim Shaaban Nasman, a senior Hamas operative. Nasman, head of operations for Hamas' Gaza City Brigade and commander of the elite Nukhba forces, was directly involved in orchestrating the deadly October 7 attack and the subsequent holding of numerous Israeli hostages, including Miran himself. The targeted strike by the IDF and Shin Bet in Gaza eliminated Nasman, dealing a significant blow to Hamas' operational capabilities in the city.

Miran described Nasman as a cruel figure who manipulated religion to justify violence and terror. During his captivity, Miran endured harsh interrogations and psychological abuse under Nasman’s supervision, often held underground for days. "This villain held us, directed and sent the Nukhba forces against us on October 7," Miran said, expressing relief that Nasman was now "lying there shattered into pieces."

The joint statement from the IDF and Shin Bet highlighted Nasman’s recent efforts to rebuild Hamas’ military strength despite a ceasefire, including training militants and distributing weapons. Miran, 48, was kidnapped from his home in Kibbutz Nahal Oz on October 7 in front of his family and was released months later in a prisoner exchange. He has since undergone medical treatment and shared his testimony to underscore the significance of Nasman’s elimination for Israeli security.

This operation marks a critical step in dismantling Hamas’ command structure responsible for the October 7 massacre and hostage crisis, reaffirming Israel’s commitment to targeting those who perpetrate terror against its citizens.
