Israeli Hostage Survivor Reacts to Killing of Terrorist Commander Who Tortured Him in Gaza
Rom Breslavsky, an Israeli who survived nearly a year in Hamas captivity in the Gaza Strip, responded emotionally to the killing of Talal Abd Alal (Abu Youssef), the terrorist commander who led the cell that held him hostage. The Israel Defense Forces announced the elimination of Abd Alal on Tuesday. Breslavsky shared a heartfelt Instagram story revealing the brutal abuse he endured under Abd Alal's direct command, including being physically assaulted and humiliated.
In his post, Breslavsky thanked the IDF, Shin Bet, and security forces for swiftly closing the chapter on his ordeal, stating, "You avenged my revenge. Only now can I say with 100 percent certainty, I won." He described Abd Alal as a cruel figure who once jumped on his neck while Breslavsky was severely malnourished and forced him to open his mouth to spit inside it. Breslavsky detailed how Abd Alal personally ordered and carried out torture that nearly killed him multiple times.
Breslavsky concluded with a direct message to the deceased terrorist, mocking his threats against Israeli intelligence and drones, and wishing him to "enjoy hell." This killing marks another step in the intensified efforts by Israeli security forces to hold accountable those involved in attacks, kidnappings, and torture of Israeli civilians.
The story highlights the severe physical and psychological abuse hostages endure under terrorist captors and the ongoing Israeli operations targeting militant leaders responsible for such crimes.
