Israeli Hostage Survivor Celebrates Killing of Captor Responsible for His Abuse in Gaza
Rom Breslavsky, an Israeli who survived captivity in Gaza, expressed intense emotions and celebrated the killing of Talal Jaber Muhammad Abd Al-Al, the man who held him captive. In a radio interview on 103FM with Arel Segal and Michael Shemesh, Breslavsky described how he spent the entire night celebrating the death of the man he called a "monster." He recounted opening a serious gathering at a bar in Tel Aviv where he distributed shots in memory of "Abu Yosef," a nickname for his captor.
Breslavsky said the news of the killing was deeply moving and that he had been informed by the Shin Bet three days prior, before the official announcement. He recalled the terror he felt when first seeing his captor's face and the suffering he endured during captivity. Breslavsky attributed to Talal Jaber responsibility for the October 7 attack and the bloodshed that followed.
He detailed the abuse he suffered, describing repeated torture sessions every few hours by Jaber and his men. Breslavsky also shared a chilling exchange where a captor justified the torture by claiming it was retaliation for how Israeli forces treat Palestinian prisoners. Breslavsky rejected this, stating he hoped for humane treatment for all prisoners.
The interview highlighted the personal trauma Breslavsky endured and his relief and vindication following the elimination of the man who caused him great pain.
