IDF and Shin Bet Kill Hamas Gaza City Brigade Operations Chief Behind October 7 Attack

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Shin Bet announced on Tuesday the killing of Adham Ibrahim Shaaban Nesman, the operations chief of Hamas's Gaza City Brigade. Nesman was responsible for directing the October 7 raid from the Gaza Brigade into Israeli territory and held numerous Israeli hostages. The operation took place over the weekend in the Gaza City area, where Nesman, who had served as commander of the Nukhba Battalion in recent years, was targeted and eliminated.

According to the IDF spokesperson, Nesman was involved in holding many hostages during the conflict, including Romi Gonen, Emily Damari, Ziv and Gali Berman, Eitan Mor, Matan Angrist, and Omri Miran. Throughout his tenure, Nesman held various roles within Hamas, such as intelligence officer for the Gaza City Brigade and commander of the Shati Battalion. He was responsible for planning and executing numerous terrorist attacks against Israeli forces and the state of Israel.

The IDF statement further noted that recently Nesman was engaged in training and preparing Gaza City Brigade militants, as well as promoting the production and distribution of weapons to the brigade's battalions. These activities aimed to rebuild Hamas's terrorist capabilities, violating the ceasefire agreement.
