IDF and Shin Bet Kill Senior Hamas Military Security Chief in Gaza Strip
On Wednesday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Shin Bet conducted a targeted strike in northern Gaza, killing Mohammed Naeem Jandia. Jandia served as the military security chief of the Shuja'iyya Brigade within Hamas's military wing. He had a notorious history of violent actions against Israeli civilians and soldiers. During the October massacre, Jandia led the elite Nukhba unit that raided Kibbutz Nahal Oz and was actively involved in the abduction of Captain Daniel Peretz, who was later killed.
Jandia was also directly responsible for holding three Israeli hostages, Yotam Haim, Samer Al-Talalka, and Alon Shmoriz, inside an underground tunnel controlled by the Shuja'iyya Brigade. Tragically, these hostages were accidentally killed by Israeli forces during an escape attempt. Additionally, Jandia was known as a masked figure participating in Hamas's staged ceremonies related to early hostage release negotiations.
Despite his death, Jandia had recently continued to orchestrate complex terror plans against IDF forces operating in Gaza. The IDF Southern Command stated that its troops remain deployed in the area according to existing agreements and will continue to act decisively to neutralize any immediate threats.
