IDF and Shin Bet Kill Senior Hamas Commander Behind Kidnapping of Israeli Captain
On Thursday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Shin Bet eliminated Mohammad Naeem Jandia, the military security chief of Hamas's Shuja'iyya Brigade, in northern Gaza Strip. Jandia led the elite Nukhba unit that attacked Kibbutz Nahal Oz on October 7 and was directly involved in the abduction of Captain Daniel Peretz, who was later killed. During the fighting, he was responsible for holding Israeli captives Yotam Haim, Samer Al-Talalka, and Alon Shmoriz in an underground tunnel.
Jandia also orchestrated terrorist plans targeting IDF forces within Gaza and was a prominent masked figure at Hamas ceremonies related to hostage release negotiations. His elimination marks a significant blow to Hamas's military operations and hostage management in the region.
