IDF and Shin Bet Kill Hamas Military Security Chief Involved in Soldier Kidnappings
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Shin Bet conducted a joint operation on Wednesday in northern Gaza Strip, killing Mohammed Naeem Jandia, the military security chief of Hamas's Shuja'iyya Brigade. Jandia played a key role in the October 7 massacre, leading the elite Nukhba unit that raided Kibbutz Nahal Oz and participated in the abduction of Captain Daniel Peretz, who was later killed.
During the fighting, Jandia was responsible for holding three Israeli soldiers, Yotam Haim, Samer Al-Talalka, and Alon Shmerez, in an underground tunnel within the Shuja'iyya Brigade’s territory. These soldiers were accidentally killed by IDF forces during subsequent combat. As a senior operative, Jandia recently attempted to orchestrate terror attacks against IDF troops operating in Gaza.
Additionally, Jandia was a prominent masked participant in Hamas ceremonies related to prisoner exchange negotiations. His elimination is part of ongoing Israeli efforts to dismantle Hamas’s military leadership and prevent further attacks.
