IDF Kills Senior Hamas Commander Behind October 7 Gaza Raid

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Shin Bet announced on Tuesday that they killed Adham Ibrahim Shaaban Nesman, the head of operations for Hamas's Gaza City Brigade, during a weekend strike in Gaza City. Nesman was a key figure in Hamas's military wing and played a direct role in the October 7 attack on Israel, commanding and directing the raid from the Gaza City Brigade.

Nesman was also involved in holding numerous Israeli hostages, including Romi Gonen, Emily Damari, Ziv and Gali Berman, Eitan Mor, Matan Angrist, and Omri Miron. Emily Damari responded to the announcement, calling Nesman a "monster" and revealing that while in captivity, she overheard him communicating with Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar and other militants. She wrote, "Many terrorists we encountered aspired to be like him; now they burn together in hellfire."

According to the IDF, Nesman held several senior roles within Hamas, including intelligence officer for the Gaza City Brigade and commander of the Shati Battalion. Recently, he was involved in training militants and advancing the production and distribution of weapons, violating the ceasefire agreement.

The IDF and senior officials warn that Hamas is reorganizing and preparing for further conflict, emphasizing the ongoing efforts to secure the release of all hostages, including men, women, children, and the elderly.
