IDF forces have gained operational control in the area north of the Nahal al-Saluki in southern Lebanon, an area cleared by fighters from Brigade Combat Team 7 and the Egoz unit that was used by Hezbollah to launch explosive drones and high trajectory fire at IDF forces. The fighters destroyed hundreds of terrorist infrastructures and, together with the Air Force, killed about 50 militants.
Fighters from Brigade Combat Team 7 and the Egoz unit, under the command of Division 36, completed an operation to achieve operational control and clear the area north of Nahal al-Saluki in the forward defense line area, the IDF Spokesperson said Thursday evening.
The operation was completed as part of the divisional effort to strengthen operational control in southern Lebanon and remove the direct threat to the communities of the Galilee Panhandle and Metula. The Nahal al-Saluki area is used by Hezbollah as infrastructure for launching explosive drones and high trajectory fire at IDF forces operating in the area.
During the operation, the forces destroyed, together with the Air Force, hundreds of terrorist infrastructures and killed more than 50 militants. Several weapons were also found, including explosive devices, anti-tank missiles and anti-tank launchers.
