IDF Says It Gained Operational Control in Northern Nahal Saluki Area of Southern Lebanon

IDF forces have gained operational control in the area north of the Saluki River in southern Lebanon, an area cleared by fighters from the 7th Brigade combat team and the Egoz unit. The area was used by Hezbollah to launch explosive drones and conduct high trajectory fire against IDF forces, and the fighters destroyed hundreds of terror infrastructures and, together with the Air Force, killed about 50 militants.

Fighters from the 7th Brigade combat team and the Egoz unit, under the command of the 36th Division, completed an operation to gain operational control and clear the area north of the Saluki River in the forward defense line area, the IDF Spokesperson said Thursday evening.

The operation was completed as part of the divisional effort to strengthen operational control in southern Lebanon and remove the direct threat to the communities of the Upper Galilee Finger and Metula. The Saluki River area serves Hezbollah as infrastructure for launching explosive drones and high trajectory fire against IDF forces operating in the area.

During the operation, the forces destroyed hundreds of terror infrastructures in cooperation with the Air Force and killed more than 50 militants. Several weapons were also located, including explosive devices, anti-tank missiles and anti-tank launchers.
