Air India to Resume Direct Flights Between Tel Aviv and New Delhi in December
Air India is set to resume direct flights between New Delhi and Tel Aviv starting December 1, operating five weekly services, according to Israeli broadcaster N12. The Indian national carrier had previously restarted this route in March 2025, following interruptions due to the war that began after the October 7th attacks. However, flights were suspended again in May 2025, shortly after a Houthi ballistic missile landed within the premises of Ben Gurion Airport.
The airline had briefly reinstated services in March 2024, only to halt them the following month. Rotations resumed in May but were once more suspended in August 2024. Air India's return will re-establish the sole direct air link between Israel and India. Since the suspension of this route, travelers between the two nations have relied on flights with layovers.
Air India will join a small group of foreign carriers offering long-haul flights to and from Ben Gurion Airport. This group currently includes American airlines Delta Air Lines and United Airlines. Delta resumed its New York-JFK to Tel Aviv route on September 7, and United reinstated its Newark to Tel Aviv flights two days later.
