Air India Resumes Direct Flights Between Tel Aviv and Delhi

Air India, India's national carrier, has officially announced the resumption of its operations in Israel, with five weekly direct flights scheduled between Tel Aviv and Delhi starting December 1st. This move is significant as Air India is the sole airline operating direct flights on this route.

Since the suspension of these flights, Israeli travelers to India and other East Asian destinations have been forced to take complex connecting flights through European or Gulf airports. The resumption of the direct route is expected to significantly ease travel accessibility to the region, with Delhi serving as a key hub for onward journeys.

The decision by Air India comes after a period of considerable aviation instability. Following the outbreak of the war in October 2023, the airline had repeatedly suspended and resumed its services to Israel. Its last flight to Israel was in May 2025, when it halted operations due to a Houthi missile incident near Ben Gurion Airport.

After an extended absence, Air India's return marks a step towards normalizing air travel on this strategic route, with hopes for a swift return to regular service.
