Air India to Resume Flights to Israel Starting December 1
Indian carrier Air India will restart direct flights between New Delhi and Tel Aviv on December 1, 2026, restoring the sole direct air link between Israel and India. The airline intends to operate five flights weekly. Initially, in December, flights will run on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with the frequency increasing to five flights per week starting in January. The flight duration from Tel Aviv to New Delhi is approximately 5 hours and 45 minutes.
Air India also plans to utilize a shortened route that avoids flying over countries considered hostile to Israel. This resumption of service will provide Israeli passengers with direct access not only to India but also to Air India's extensive network of connecting flights to destinations across Asia and Australia.
The airline had previously postponed its return to Israel on multiple occasions. Passengers who had purchased tickets for October flights received cancellation notices in August. Tickets for flights commencing December 1 are now available for booking.
