Air India to Resume Direct Flights Between Tel Aviv and Delhi
Indian carrier Air India will re-launch its direct flight route between Tel Aviv and Delhi on December 1st, operating five flights per week. This marks another attempt by the airline to maintain service on the route, which has seen intermittent suspensions since the October 7th attacks.
Air India has a history of resuming and suspending flights to Israel multiple times over the past year. The airline initially restarted the Tel Aviv-Delhi route in March 2024, then suspended it in April, only to resume in May. Further suspensions occurred in August 2024, followed by a return in March 2025. In May 2025, after a Houthi missile strike impacted the area near Ben Gurion Airport, the airline again halted its flights, and has not returned to regular operations since.
The Tel Aviv-Delhi route is significant as it is the only direct air link between Israel and India. Previously, passengers traveling to India had to rely on connecting flights through Gulf states or Europe. Delhi also serves as a major transit hub for onward travel across East Asia.
