Two-Week-Old Infant Dies After Being Found Unresponsive at Home in Acre

A two-week-old infant was found unresponsive in his home in Acre on Thursday morning and later pronounced dead. The initial suspicion is that the baby suffocated in his sleep while lying between his parents. Paramedics and EMTs from Magen David Adom who arrived at the scene identified injuries on the infant's body. They provided medical treatment and transported him in critical condition, continuing resuscitation efforts, to the Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya.

Dr. Omri Gurga, a volunteer doctor with Magen David Adom, and paramedic Salem Harika, who treated the infant, described the event as "very difficult, a tragic event." They stated that upon arrival, they found the infant, about two weeks old, unresponsive, without a pulse or breathing. They immediately began resuscitation efforts, including administering adrenaline, establishing complex intravenous access, providing ventilation, and connecting him to advanced monitoring equipment.

"At the right moment, we brought him into the intensive care unit and began clearing our way to Nahariya hospital, to the Galilee Medical Center, to the trauma room there," they said. "There, unfortunately, after many efforts, they had to pronounce his death."
