Two-Week-Old Infant Dies in Hospital After Being Found Unresponsive at Home
A two-week-old infant from Acre died on Thursday at the Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya after being found unresponsive at his home earlier that morning. Emergency medical services (Magen David Adom) received a call at 8:37 AM and found the baby with no pulse or respiration. Paramedics performed advanced resuscitation efforts and transported him to the hospital in critical condition, where his death was later pronounced.
The infant had reportedly slept in his parents' bed overnight. Investigators are examining the possibility that he suffocated during sleep. Bruises and bleeding were also found on the baby's body, and the circumstances surrounding his death are under investigation.
MDA paramedics described the scene as "very difficult," detailing their immediate resuscitation efforts, including chest compressions, artificial respiration, and medication administration, en route to the hospital.
