Israeli Ambassador's Son Severely Wounded in West Bank Attack

Neriah Laiter, a reserve soldier and the son of Israel's Ambassador to the United States, was severely injured in a Palestinian attack on Route 443 near the Machsom Ha'Maccabim checkpoint on Wednesday. The community of Ali announced his identity and called for prayers for his recovery. Laiter's brother, Major Moshe Yedidya Laiter, was killed in Gaza in November 2023. The attack occurred when a vehicle struck Laiter on the road between Beit Horon and the west. Paramedics treated him at the scene before evacuating him to the hospital in serious condition. The assailant was killed by security forces. This incident follows closely on the heels of another attack days earlier in the Benjamin region, where Natanel Kron, a 48-year-old resident of Ali Zahav, was killed near Ein Ri'ay spring. Kron was at the site with his 16-year-old son on the eve of Yom Kippur when the attacker opened fire. He managed to warn his son, saving his life, before being fatally wounded himself. The perpetrator of that attack was apprehended hours later in Ramallah after being shot by a military tracker at the scene.
