Southern Israel Resident Charged with Inciting Terrorism and Praising Hamas

A 19-year-old resident of Segev Shalom in southern Israel, Dif Allah Abu Ragila, has been indicted on charges of inciting terrorism and expressing identification with a terror organization. The indictment, filed by the Southern District Attorney's Office, follows a joint investigation by the Southern District Police's Central Unit and the Shin Bet security agency.

According to the indictment, Abu Ragila maintained a public TikTok account with 877 followers. In the months leading up to his arrest, and daily during August, he reposted content from pages identified with Hamas and memorial pages for terrorists. This content included footage from the October 7th attacks and posts praising figures such as Yahya Sinwar, Ismail Haniyeh, Ahmed Yassin, and Ibrahim al-Nabulsi.

One repost allegedly glorified Mu'in Mu'ammar, accused of killing 20 Israelis on October 7th. Another post, described as a direct call to commit terror, shared a video portraying jihad and fighting as a religious duty to cleanse Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Abu Ragila was arrested approximately one month ago by a special police unit and detectives from the Segev Shalom station. He was subsequently interrogated by the Shin Bet and the Southern District Police's counter-terrorism unit.

In parallel with the indictment, prosecutors requested that Abu Ragila be held in custody until the legal proceedings conclude. They argued that the volume and nature of his posts, including direct calls for terror, demonstrate his dangerousness. The prosecution also contended that the current security situation exacerbates the risk posed by such offenses and the danger of his release to public safety.
