TikTok User Charged for Praising Hamas Terrorist Who Killed 20 Israelis

The State Prosecutor's Office has filed an indictment against Dipalleh Abu Ragila, a 19-year-old resident of Segav Shalom, for dozens of offenses including incitement to terrorism, expressing identification with a terror organization, and directly calling for terrorist acts. Abu Ragila allegedly posted 45 items on his TikTok account that contained incitement and expressions of identification, particularly concerning the October 7th Hamas attacks and other terrorist incidents.

Among his posts, Abu Ragila shared a video glorifying Mu'in Mu'ammar, identified as a terrorist who murdered 20 Israelis in 10 minutes during the October 7th massacre. His TikTok account, which had 877 followers and approximately 5,500 likes, featured public content. In the months leading up to his arrest, and intensely on a daily basis during August, Abu Ragila reposted content from pages associated with Hamas and memorial pages for terrorists, including figures like Yahya Sinwar, Ismail Haniyeh, Ahmed Yassin, and Ibrahim al-Nabulsi.

One post attributed to Abu Ragila is described as a direct call to commit a terrorist act, featuring a video presenting jihad and combat as a religious duty and a path to purify the Al-Aqsa Mosque. In parallel with the indictment, the prosecution requested that Abu Ragila be detained until the legal proceedings against him conclude.

Lawyer Eliya Lahav argued in the arrest request that the sheer volume of publications, their content, and the direct call for terrorism demonstrate Abu Ragila's dangerousness. She further stated that the current security situation in Israel exacerbates the risk posed by such offenses and the potential for public harm if he is released from custody.
