Israeli Arab Youth Charged with Inciting Terrorism, Praising Hamas
An indictment was filed Tuesday against 19-year-old Dheif Allah Abu Regeila from the Bedouin village of Shqib al-Salam in the Negev region of southern Israel. He faces charges of inciting terrorism and identifying with Hamas.
The indictment follows a joint investigation by the police and the Shin Bet security agency, which arrested Abu Regeila approximately one month ago.
According to the indictment, between January 1 and December 31, 2026, Abu Regeila allegedly posted content on social media that security officials described as supporting terrorism, praising the October 7, 2023, attack, and calling for acts of violence.
The indictment was submitted to the Beersheba Magistrate's Court. Police and the Shin Bet stated they would continue to pursue and prosecute individuals accused of incitement.
