Israeli Arab Youth Indicted for Inciting Terrorism Online

An indictment has been filed against a 20-year-old man from Laqia in the Negev for allegedly spreading content that incites terrorism and expresses solidarity with terrorist organizations on his Instagram account. The charges, brought by the Southern District Attorney's Office to the Beersheba Central Court, include glorifying Hamas leaders, terrorist acts, and perpetrators, as well as calls for jihad and targeting Jews.

The indictment details that the accused managed an Instagram account with approximately 1,300 followers. Between 2025 and 2026, he reportedly shared content that glorified, supported, and encouraged terrorist acts, and expressed solidarity with terrorist groups. Specific posts cited include a video clip featuring a speech by Mohammed Deif from October 7, 2023, announcing the attack on Israel and calling for jihad and the "liberation of Al-Aqsa Mosque." Another post shared footage of perpetrator Odai Tamimi during a shooting attack, and others featured Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, martyrdom glorification, and images of Hamas leaders with slogans like "Jihad, Victory or Martyrdom." The content also allegedly included calls for jihad and the destruction of Tel Aviv.

Prosecutors argue that these publications, due to their content and the circumstances of their dissemination, created a realistic possibility of leading to acts of terrorism. The indictment also accuses him of solidarity with a terrorist organization in some of the posts. The suspect's name is being withheld pending further proceedings.
