Man Indicted for Praising Terrorist Who Killed 20 Israelis

The State Prosecutor's Office has filed an indictment against Dipalleh Abu Ragila, 19, from Shagav Shalom, for dozens of offenses including incitement to terrorism, expressing identification with a terror organization, and directly calling for terrorist acts. Abu Ragila allegedly posted 45 pieces of content on his TikTok account, which had 877 followers and approximately 5,500 likes, openly sharing material related to the October 7th attacks and other terrorist incidents.

During the months leading up to his arrest, and intensely on a daily basis in August, Abu Ragila reposted content from pages identified with Hamas and memorial pages for terrorists. This included posts praising and glorifying terrorists such as Yahya Sinwar, Ismail Haniyeh, Ahmed Yassin, and Ibrahim al-Nabulsi.

One of the posts attributed to him shared a video celebrating Mu'in Mu'ammar for killing 20 Israelis in 10 minutes during the October 7th massacre. Another post, deemed a direct call to commit terrorism, featured a video presenting jihad and combat as a religious duty and a path to purifying Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Alongside the indictment, the prosecution requested that Abu Ragila be held in custody until the legal proceedings conclude. Prosecutor Elya Lahav argued that the volume and content of the posts, including the direct call to terrorism, demonstrate Abu Ragila's dangerousness. She further stated that the current security situation in Israel amplifies the risk posed by such offenses and the danger to public safety if he is released.

The investigation was conducted by the Southern District's Central Unit of the Israel Police and the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency).
