Man Charged for TikTok Incitement and Glorification of Terror

Israel's State Prosecutor's Office has filed an indictment against a 19-year-old Bedouin man, Difeallah Abu Regila from Shagav Shalom, for dozens of offenses including incitement to terrorism, expressing identification with a terror organization, and direct calls to commit terror acts. The charges stem from 45 posts Abu Regila allegedly published on his TikTok account, which had 877 followers and approximately 5,500 likes, all accessible to the public.

These posts, made intensely and daily in August and in the months preceding his arrest, included content glorifying terrorists and the October 7th massacre. Abu Regila reportedly reposted content from pages associated with Hamas and memorial pages for terror operatives. Among the figures praised were Hamas leaders Yahya Sinwar and Ismail Haniyeh, as well as Ahmed Yassin and Ibrahim al-Nabulsi.

One specific post highlighted in the indictment allegedly shared a video praising a terrorist for killing 20 Israelis in 10 minutes during the October 7th attack. Another post, described as a direct call to commit terror, shared a video presenting jihad and fighting as a religious duty to purify the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Alongside the indictment, prosecutors requested that Abu Regila be held in custody until the legal proceedings conclude. Lawyer Eliya Lahav argued that the volume and severity of the posts, including direct calls for terror, demonstrate his high level of danger, especially given the current security situation, justifying his detention to prevent harm to public safety.
