Water Boiling Advisory Lifted for Most of Karmiel After Three Days

The Israeli Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday the cancellation of the requirement to boil water for drinking, food preparation, medication preparation, and teeth brushing in most of the northern city of Karmiel. The advisory had been in effect for nearly three days following the detection of contamination.

This decision comes after the water corporation implemented corrective actions and subsequent water sampling across the city yielded satisfactory results in the majority of tested locations. However, the ministry specified that a small number of areas within Karmiel must continue to boil their water until further notice.

These areas include the industrial zone (all streets), the neighborhood of HaMeyasdim on specific streets (HaGalil, Tzahal, HaHaruv, HaZayit, HaGafen, HaTena, Kalanit, HaEmek, Mishol HaSvionim, Mishol HaRakafot, HaHaruv, Narkis), the southern neighborhood on specific streets (Mishol Hatzav, HaPrachim 1-64, Mored HaGai odd numbers 1-41), and several public institutions including the Karmiel Cultural Hall, the Histadrut House, the community center, the stadium, the conservatory, the library, Ohel Baruch, the shooting range, and Ofira Park.
