Two Nazareth Men Arrested for Drugs and Grenade Hidden Under Baby Stroller

Police in northern Israel arrested two young men, aged 23 and 28, from Nazareth, after discovering drugs and a fragmentation grenade hidden in their rented accommodation and vehicle. Officers raided a Zimmer (short-term rental) where the suspects were staying on Monday, following intelligence about illegal weapons being kept there. During the search, police found dozens of pre-packaged doses of cocaine and hashish. They also found a key to a car parked outside the property.

Inside the car, officers discovered a bag hidden beneath a baby stroller. Upon opening the bag, they found a fragmentation grenade and dozens of live ammunition rounds. The two men were arrested at the scene.

The police are expected to request an extension of their detention on Tuesday at the Magistrate's Court in Nof HaGalil-Nazareth. The arrests come amid ongoing efforts by the Northern District Police, including the Special Patrol Unit and the Border Unit of the Northern District Detective Unit, to locate and seize illegal weapons. Last week, two suspects, including an illegal resident, were arrested near Shfaram on suspicion of possessing a "Matador" missile stolen from the IDF. That missile was seized during a targeted operation by the same police units.
