Nazareth Man Arrested with Loaded Gun Suspected for Immediate Use

A 39-year-old Arab resident of Nazareth was arrested on Monday after police found a loaded handgun and magazine on the motorcycle he was riding. The search took place during a police operation on a main street in the city, following suspicion directed at the rider. Authorities stated the gun and ammunition were suspected to be intended for immediate use. The suspect was brought in for questioning, and his detention was subsequently extended.

The police added that since the beginning of the year, Northern District officers, with assistance from Border Police fighters, have seized over 530 lethal weapons. Many armed suspects have been apprehended en route to carrying out shootings and assassinations, as part of efforts to combat violent crime and firearm offenses in Arab communities.
