Israeli Police Seize Two Loaded Guns Hidden Under Motorcycle Seat in Nazareth Chase

Israeli police arrested a 19-year-old man in Nazareth on August 1 after a police chase revealed two loaded handguns concealed beneath his motorcycle seat. The suspect attempted to flee when officers noticed his motorcycle's license plate was folded, but was quickly stopped and detained. The firearms included a Colt revolver and an FN pistol. This arrest is part of ongoing efforts by the Northern District police and Border Police to combat violent crime in Nazareth, where over 580 lethal weapons have been seized so far this year.

In recent months, police have conducted multiple operations in Nazareth targeting illegal weapons and drugs. Earlier this month, a raid on a school uncovered a bag containing a gun and various drugs, leading to the arrest of a 30-year-old local resident. In March, a joint operation by the National Guard, Border Police, and Northern District detectives found a "Carlo" submachine gun and other weapons in a city warehouse, along with hashish and synthetic drugs, resulting in the arrest of a 26-year-old man.

Authorities emphasized that their crackdown on illegal arms and suspects will continue to reduce violent incidents in the region. The indictment against the 19-year-old suspect has been filed with the Nazareth District Court, along with a request to keep him in custody throughout the legal proceedings.
