Israel Military Disrupts Hamas Weapons Caches in Gaza

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have targeted and destroyed three Hamas weapons storage sites in the Gaza Strip, according to a joint announcement by the IDF and Shin Bet on Thursday morning. The sites reportedly contained small arms, explosives, anti-tank missiles, and other military equipment.

This marks the second consecutive day the IDF has reported striking such facilities. On Wednesday, the military announced overnight strikes on three weapons depots belonging to Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, as well as a rocket launch shaft used during the ongoing conflict.

The IDF stated that it has recently observed a new tactic by Hamas militants who are arming themselves at these caches and attempting to reassert control in Gaza. These militants reportedly arrive in civilian clothing, retrieve weapons, and then use them to enforce their authority over the local population and to carry out attacks against IDF forces.

Israeli assessments indicate that numerous similar weapons storage sites remain within Hamas-controlled territory in Gaza. At least six such sites have been attacked by the IDF in recent days.

The IDF reiterated its commitment to dismantling Hamas's military capabilities and preventing any attempts to rebuild or store weapons intended to harm Israeli forces. IDF units operating under the Southern Command are deployed in the area and will continue to address any immediate threats.
