Israel Strikes Hamas, Islamic Jihad Weapon Depots and Rocket Launcher in Gaza
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Shin Bet security agency conducted a targeted strike in multiple areas of the Gaza Strip on Sunday, destroying three weapons depots belonging to Hamas and the Islamic Jihad. The operation also eliminated a rocket launch pit from which rockets were fired at Israel during the ongoing conflict.
These depots contained dozens of weapons, including rockets, Kalashnikov rifles, and other military equipment. The IDF identified that Hamas operatives had recently accessed these sites, utilizing the stored weaponry for guard duties and to reinforce the terrorist organization's control within the Strip.
IDF forces from the Southern Command are deployed in the area in accordance with an agreement. The military emphasized its commitment to continuing operations aimed at degrading terrorist capabilities, thwarting rehabilitation efforts, and neutralizing any immediate threats to Israeli forces.
The operation underscores the ongoing efforts by Israeli security forces to dismantle terrorist infrastructure and capabilities within Gaza.
