IDF Strikes Hamas Weapons Depots and Rocket Launcher in Gaza
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF), in coordination with the Shin Bet security agency, destroyed three Hamas and Islamic Jihad weapons depots and a rocket launcher in the Gaza Strip over the past day. The strikes, which occurred in multiple areas of the Gaza Strip, were described as "pinpoint" in a statement released on the morning of September 9.
According to the IDF, the depots contained "dozens of units of various combat means, including rockets, Kalashnikov rifles, and ammunition." The statement also indicated that Hamas militants were using this weaponry to "strengthen control over the Gaza Strip."
The IDF confirmed it continues to maintain a perimeter along the "yellow line" that traverses the Gaza Strip from south to north, and is repelling any attempts by militants to rebuild their capabilities or attack Israeli positions. Earlier in the week, the army also struck Hamas positions in response to the detonation of an engineering vehicle near the "yellow line" in the northern Gaza Strip. The IDF accused Hamas of another violation of the ceasefire.
